Living Wage Survey now live for Revelstoke residents

The City of Revelstoke is requesting public feedback on their Living Wage Survey that is now live for residents to fill out.

The goal of the anonymous survey is to help determine a wage that will reflect the cost of living in the city. The survey is managed by the Community Economic Development team.

A living wage is the hourly amount someone needs to earn to cover basic expenses, such as food, clothing, rental housing, childcare, transportation and small savings for emergencies or illness, according to Living Wage BC.

The living wage in Revelstoke in 2024 was $25.50, while the living wage in Golden was $26.96. This is calculated using a 35 hour work week, with an average of 35.5 hours/week according to Labour Force Survey in 2023.

The survey is now live, and all answers will contribute to the City of Revelstoke.
