Some Revelstoke locals are sharing their thoughts on the city’s flag which has caught the eye of a city councillor.
Over 100 comments flooded a post on the local Facebook group that involved new designs, what people like about the flag and what people don’t.
This original post, made by John Hordijk, listed the concerns about the flag, saying its complex, text-dependent, its “not timeless”, along with a proposed design of what they think the flag should be.
Revelstoke City Councillor, Tim Palmer, also responded to this post that read, “Thank you, John. Those principles also formed the basis of our recent rebranding exercise. Coincidentally, I was thinking about our flag at UBCM, where all the flags of the municipalities were on display.”
Future discussion of a new flag could be a possibility amongst city staff.
