Results are in for Revelstoke Burger Challenge

After two weeks of burger tasting from 15 different local Revelstoke restaurants, The Taco Club has been crowned winner of the Revelstoke Burger Challenge.

Their burger, La Melosa, received the most votes with their beef patty with bacon bits, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and creamy house sauce, finished with pineapple and jalapeno jam that’s all wrapped in a flour tortilla.

In second place was The Big Eddy Pub with their Chimni Jack Stack. The burger was topped with deep-fried Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeno chimichurri and their Eddy sauce on a brioche bun, topped with greens grown in-house.

In third place was Zalas Restaurant with The Candied Outlaw, a beef patty with maple jalapeno jam, candied bacon, crispy onions, honey ustard aioli and creamy havarti on a brioche bub.

The challenge is hosted by Revelstoke Bear Aware. From Oct. 6 to Oct. 19, restaurants create a burger that’s one-of-a-kind in hopes that it will win Revelstoke’s Best Burger. One dollar from every burger sold goes directly to supporting Revelstoke Bear Aware’s work throughout the community.

They would also like to thank all of the contendors, as well as the people who came out to try the burgers.
