Nomination packages available for Golden residents

The 2026 municipal election is around the corner and nomination packages are available for residents wanting to run.

Residents of Golden will vote to elect one mayor and six councillors to town council and three school trustees for School District No. 6.

Those wanting to run can pick up a nomination package at town hall or online.

“Serving your community can be a very rewarding experience,” said Dawn Attorp, Golden’s Chief Election Officer.

“Town Council makes important decisions that directly affect the daily lives of residents, families and businesses in Golden. It’s important for prospective candidates to understand what to expect before, during and after an election, and be well informed of the process and requirements.”

Nomination papers must be completed and submitted to the Chief Election Officer between Sept. 1-11.

The 2026 Municipal Election is on Oct. 17.
