Santa Claus Parade rolls through downtown Revelstoke Dec. 12

The city of Revelstoke is inviting residents to celebrate the holiday season at its Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The parade will leave the Revelstoke Courthouse at 4 p.m., travel down First Street and along Mackenzie Avenue, and finish at Mackenzie Avenue and Third Street, the city said.

Santa is expected to leave the parade at the Grizzly Plaza intersection at about 4:45 p.m.

While crowds wait, the Revelstoke Community Choir will sing carols at Grizzly Plaza from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Festivities at the plaza will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and include face painting, popcorn and free hot chocolate from CUPE Local 363. The Revelstoke Community Band will perform from 5 to 5:45 p.m.

Families can visit Santa under the gazebo from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. for a free holiday photo. The city is asking visitors to bring their own phones for the pictures.

Anyone interested in joining the parade are encouraged to register on the City of Revelstoke website.
