Looking to celebrate Diwali tonight? There will be a fireworks show at Golden’s Sikh Temple, the Gurdwara Sahib at 603 13 St. S.
The Golden B.C. Fire Rescue has issued a permit for the fireworks display for Oct. 21 between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. They said that noise can cause anxiety, fear and stress for both domestic and wild animals. They advise keeping pets indoors during the show.
Despite the permit for tonight, written permission must be obtained from the Golden Fire Department to sell or set off fireworks. A fine of up to $1000 could be a result of unlawful use of fireworks in the community.
