Big year for Golden Municipal Campground

The Town of Golden saw nearly 15,000 visitors use the Golden Municipal Campground in 2025.

The campground had 8,934 occupied sites, which was up from 8,299 in 2024.

There were fewer cancellations with 518 in 2025 compared to 595 the year prior.

“It’s a great year for the campground, a great year for our community and a great year for us as a municipality by virtue of the revenues generated by the campground,” said Mayor Ron Oszust.

The campground hosted people from all over the world, with customers from 30 different countries.

Canadians were the most frequent customers, while Germans were second followed by Americans.

There were a few things the campground will look to address for next season.

There were some complaints around mosquitos, noise from trains and the high school and some internet issues.
