Golden council sets service agreement for BC Housing project

Golden Council has set requirements for the future construction at 807 11th Avenue South.

In 2025, council approved a DVP for a 23-dwelling-unit BC Housing project.

The developer has been completing their building permit submission, which includes frontage works and sewer pipe upsizing.

This project is tributary to an overcapacity sewer pipe on 12th Street South that will need upsizing.

Town staff said the risk is that the town must rely on BC Housing to fulfill its obligations under the servicing agreement.

If the obligations are not met, the town would have no financial security to complete the works.

The town has now set a requirement to have the off-site work completed.
