Golden & District Hospitals Moulin Rouge Gala raises over $25,000

More than $25,000 has been raised for a portable ultrasound machine from this year’s Golden and District Hospital Gala.

The Moulin Rouge–themed event took place Nov. 15 at the Golden Civic Centre. Funds will support the purchase of a second portable ultrasound machine for Golden and District Hospital, intended to improve diagnostics and treatment and reduce wait times for medical imaging results.

This additional piece of equipment doesn’t require specialized technicians, therefore staff and physicians can get immediate results for the patients receiving care in Golden.

East Kootenay Foundation for Health would like to give a special shout out to the Golden organizers for all their hard work in putting together such a wonderful event. They would also like to thank all their sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, attendees and entertainers for showing support for health care in Golden.

The foundation will continue to fundraise over the holiday season to support health projects and improve healthcare locally and across the East Kootenay.

To donate you can go online to ekfh.ca,  call 250-489-6481, or drop off in person at Golden Hospital.
