Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden will be closed tonight from 5 p.m. due to scheduled avalanche control.
The closure will start at 5 p.m. between Oak Dr. and 14th St. N, and is scheduled to reopen at 1 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19.
DriveBC said a detour will not be available, as commercial traffic will be held in Malakwa starting at 4 p.m. Passenger vehicles will be able to get to Revelstoke.
